August 1, 2006 - APPROVED

Present: Amelia, Aileen, Lemlem, Kris, Dev, Gil, Sepideh, Nick, Shahrahm, Anthony, Brian, Mary P. William Absent: Luis, Joe, Annie, Mary, Vini Facilitator: Tracy

1- Announcements/Agenda/Administrative

Approved 7/24 minutes with one modification: addition of a comma and an "and" between "neo-traditional country" and "roots rock".

Apprenticeship document regarding group interaction on e-mail to be gotten from Gil Cho and reviewed by PC members for its applicability to the PC. Committee to consider whether PC needs or should have a similar document.

II - Ongoing Programming

Tentatively scheduled session with Davey D on Arbitron ratings and transformational programming for August 22nd. Tracy to check in with Davey regarding schedule and also track PC's progress through the (7) new program proposals so we take that on when we have finished the new proposal work.

The proposal for a new alternative medicine show by Dr. Theresa Dale has been temporarily withdrawn at the proposer's request in response to PC feedback that the demo tape submitted in support of the proposal (of the doctor giving a speech at a convention) was inadequate to demonstrate what kind of radio program was being proposed.

Alfredo Kuba, who proposed "Animal Rights Radio" was unable to make his PC appointment again due to an emergency medical situation with a family pet. Tracy to make contact during the week and discuss pending issues with the proposal, including the existence of the approved "Watchdog" on the PA waiting list and the relationships between the two proposals.

III - Evaluations

Reviewed Cycle VI completed work and evaluations still missing which need to be followed up on.

IV - Special Programming

Black August proposal granted 4 hours on August 26th (8am to noon) preceding the Vallejo Jazz Festival Broadcast.

V - Long-Term Issues

Reviewed notes assembled by Brian and Sepideh regarding a possible open house or open program council meeting later in the fall. Still in the very preliminary planning phases.

Adjourned @ 7:50 pm
